COVID-19 (Coronavirus)
March 29 , 2020
Due to the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in our state, the Chitimacha Tribal Council has had to make the difficult decision to TEMPORARILY suspend all business operations at Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. Consequently, we are uncertain as to when the Chitimacha Tribal Council will allow Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel to resume normal business operations. As many are aware, the State of Louisiana has issued a “Stay-at-Home” order, which will remain in effect until April 12, 2020.
This decision is not taken lightly and comes out of an abundance of caution to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus disease. We are closely monitoring all available information including updated recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, State, and Tribal health authorities. We will continue to update our guests and team members as details arise.
Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel will work with officials to establish normal business operations as soon as possible for an announcement in the near future. We thank you for your continued business, loyalty, and patience during this time. We hope to see you soon!
Always fun and friendly,

Out of an abundance of caution, Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel is taking vast measures to keep our team members and guests safe from Coronavirus (COVID-19).
On top of our already rigorous cleaning processes, we are taking the following steps to ensure public safety:
- • Additional hand sanitizing stations have been installed around the gaming floor as well as in back-of-house operations.
- • We have implemented an enhanced cleaning process which will take place more often and will include the most commonly touched surfaces. These surfaces include, but are not limited to, slot machines, chairs, tables, door handles, ATM machines, and the like.
- • We continue to encourage frequent hand washing and good hygienic practices. The CDC recommends frequent hand washing which should be timed for at least 20 seconds to ensure maximum effectiveness.
- • According to the CDC surgical masks should only be worn by those who are sick or healthcare professionals. Guests wearing surgical masks are permitted to enter the gaming floor; however, they may be asked to remove their masks for identification purposes. As always, a valid photo ID is required to enter the facility.
As of now, events scheduled on property will proceed as planned. We are closely monitoring all available information including updated recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, State, and Tribal health authorities. We will continue to update our guests and team members as details arise.
